About DJ Matt

A native to Michigan, Matt Kurowski is the founder of Stumptown DJs and has been DJing various events for over 15 years.

He now considers Portland home and has been here for over 16 years. During the recession of 2008, he lost his sales job and decided to switch gears. Matt noticed how tight money was getting for soon-to-be-married couples and that there were many people looking for DJs online. With his passion for music and entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to create a DJ business for people who wanted quality service at a reasonable price and designed the entire business around real problems in the DJ industry.

A professional, organized and flexible DJ, Matt caters to a variety of clients and is always willing to adjust to their needs (e.g., games, event management, song requests, announcements, etc.). On the day of, he also helps organize the flow of events and coordinates with all on-site vendors.
